Tennessee Teacher Accused of Exposing Himself to Students

A Robertson County teacher on Friday pleaded not guilty to charges that he exposed himself to students, among other sexual activities inside the school.

John Keathley, 53, is charged with indecent exposure, solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor, and public indecency for allegedly engaging in sexual behavior with a student at Greenbrier Middle School between March and May.

Keathley allegedly masturbated in his classroom and the boys’ bathroom at the school.

Robertson County Schools reportedly said the teacher was suspended without pay once they learned of the criminal investigation. Keathley was indicted on July 31 and is now out on bond.

His teaching license is also reportedly under review, and he will remain suspended without pay until after his trial.

The news comes just days after another Robertson County teacher was indicted on charges of allegedly having sex with a high school student.

Shaundra Cartwright, a 42-year-old teacher’s aide at White House Middle School was arrested Tuesday. She allegedly had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 17-year-old for two years.

The investigation began on June 8, and authorities say the Cartwright and the student had sex about 15 times before family members reported the alleged abuse.

Cartwright is charged with statutory rape by an authority figure and continuous sexual abuse of a child.

She is also suspended from her position without pay.

There is no Millersville High School. It is White House High School

A reminder that teachers are just ordinary people with the same problems as other folks. They should not be placed on pedestals as a group.
